About this event

Boat building from Anglo-Saxon times through to today has always been associated with the Town of Woodbridge. This guided walk of 3km visits all the main riverside attractions. Starting from the Woodbridge Station, the walk visits the only current working boatyard in the town. Walking the river path then passes Woodbridge Rowing club and The Cruising club before reaching Whisstocks Place - the site of a major yard now housing the Woodbridge Museum and The Longshed. From the Museum, a volunteer will explain the maritime exhibits in the museum. Next stop is the Longshed where the Sutton Hoo Ship's Company are building a reconstruction of the Anglo-Saxon Sutton Hoo Mound 1 ship. Our next stop is the Tide Mill, the only working tide mill in the UK.
