TALiNT Benchmark Programme Summit 2019

14th November 2019, 12:30 - 17:30, followed by a Drinks Reception

About the Event

Welcome to the TALiNT Partners Benchmark summit.

The Summit will present the findings and insights from our Talent Acquisition Benchmark programme, the UK’s most relevant, rigorous and extensive Talent Acquisition benchmarking assessment covering all aspects of an employer’s recruitment and talent acquisition activities.

This unique event will deliver the most contemporary, data-driven content for any employer looking to improve its resourcing activities (regardless of whether you participated in this year’s programme).

With a working lunch, a series of interactive presentations exploring the findings across the key areas of the benchmark programme, an opening keynote from Lord Holmes of Richmond and a closing keynote from the co-founder of Stonewall and one of HR Magazine’s most influential thinkers, Simon Fanshawe topped off with a networking cocktail reception this will be a highlight of the resourcing events calendar.

What to Expect

The Summit will commence with a working lunch when the key findings on the programme will be presented. This also includes comments from Lord Holmes of Richmond on his work to ban unpaid internships and an opportunity for Q&A

The afternoon then splits into two streams covering the main aspects of the programme:

Stream A: Candidate Experience, Recruiting Effectiveness, Diversity & Inclusion,

Stream B: Employer Brand, Onboarding, Youth and Graduate Engagement

Each session will include an initial case study or research-led presentation before allowing delegates to explore the main aspects of the topic in round table discussions.

There will be a coffee and networking break after the first session before both groups rejoin for a closing key note speech from Stonewall co-founder, Simon Fanshawe, on helping organisations improve diversity.

The Agenda

13:00 to 14:15 Lunch & Presentation of key insights

Ken Brotherston, Managing Director, TALiNT Partners

Keynote speech: Lord Holmes of Richmond: "Being human: the positive impact of technology on the world of work won’t be realized as a matter of course but the answer lies in what we already know’’

For our opening keynote we welcome back Chris Holmes who will share his insights on how we try to understand, and prepare for, the often dystopian narratives around how AI and robots are coming for your job.

And whilst there is no doubt we are living through a period of significant disruption technology does offer incredible opportunities but we must find ways to embrace digital skills, lifelong learning and greater flexibility

Chris has taken an active interest in this policy area since entering the House of Lords and has been a member of Select Committees on Digital Skills, Social Mobility and AI. Currently he is a member of the Democracy and Digital Technologies Committee.

14:15 to 15:00 Session 1

Stream A : Candidate Experience: exploring how well this is incorporated into your overall TA strategy, and the operational challenges in effective implementation.

Stream B : Employer Branding: is it authentic, how well is it communicated, how can it best be measured?

15:00 to 15:25 Refreshments & Networking

15:30 to 16:15 Session 2

Stream A : Recruiting Effectiveness: what are the best metrics, what are the best sources of recruiting success, how well are they measured?

16:15 to 17:00 Session 3

Stream A : Diversity & Inclusion: which components of D&I get the most attention, how well are stakeholders aware of your D&I agenda and who owns it?

Stream B : Graduate and Youth: grads vs. apprenticeships, effective engagement techniques, measuring attrition.

17:00 to 17:30 Closing keynote speech

Simon Fanshawe OBE, co-founder of Stonewall : “there’s nothing much interesting about being gay. It just is. But growing up gay… now that’s quite interesting’’

In our cur closing key note Simon will discuss how we can do more than just say we value difference but instead make that a reality through how we recruit.

The power lies in the combination of difference…..it’s what happens when we combine truly diverse groups ….their insights, life experiences and skills. So, come and share your difference and join in and take away some practical ways to create the change your organisation needs.

Simon was originally a comedian, winning the Perrier Award, he was a feature writer for the Guardian and Sunday Times Culture for 20 years, co-founded Stonewall. He also co-founded the consultancy Diversity by Design which has developed a ground-breaking way of taking as much bias as possible out of the processes of recruitment.
