This event is being rescheduled due to the election. A new date will be announced in due course.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt. Hon. Philip Hammond MP, will be joining us for an evening talk and Q&A session in the House of Commons on 9th May at 7pm.
Philip read PPE at University College, after which he had a successful business career. He entered Parliament in 1997 and quickly rose through the ranks of the Party in opposition. He has been a Cabinet minister since 2010. Under the Coalition, he served as Transport Secretary and Defence Secretary, before taking over from William Hague as Foreign Secretary in 2014. He retained this post in David Cameron's majority government, before being promoted to Chancellor of the Exchequer by Theresa May in July last year. Philip is a very senior figure and this even is not to be missed.
