TALK: Bringing the Whole of Yourself to Others
Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM (GMT)
Subject - Talk: “BRINGING THE WHOLE OF YOURSELF TO OTHERS”
What is this Talk about?
To develop more open, vulnerable and fulfilling relationships in all aspects of life.
Do you have things that you would like to say to someone at work, or at home, but dare not? Are there things that you would like to discuss or question with someone, but just don't know how to approach the issue with them? At the last workshop, we focused on self-leadership. This month, we look at how we can "bring our whole selves" to our relationships with others and, thereby, lead others with full authenticity, openness and integrity. We will look at what gets in the way of open relationships, and where our fears about vulnerability and rejection come from. We will learn about ways to overcome those fears and experience them in action. Through discussion, self-reflection and experiential learning, you will learn how to lessen your fears when talking with those close to you or challenging your colleagues at work. This will enable you, should you choose to do so, to develop more open, vulnerable and fulfilling relationships in all aspects of your life.
Brief description about the speaker:
Jefferson Cann enjoyed a 20+ year career in the commercial world before becoming and executive performance coach 10 years ago. Since then, his work has evolved to providing experiential leadership development for individuals, teams and organisations in Europe, India, Kenya and the USA. Four years ago he co-founded Extraordinary Leadership with Nigel Linacre, and on the basis of their work they co-authored “An Introduction to 3-Dimensional Leadership”, the first comprehensive framework developed in the area. Jefferson believes that you cannot “train” people in leadership – each individual needs to be enabled to develop their own way of leading expressed through the uniqueness of their own being. As a result, all leadership development begins with understanding leadership of self, and can then build to leadership of others, of groups/teams and of organisations and communities.
