About this event

Charity & Causes • Environment

A passionate naturalist and adventurer, Rupert has paddled over 35,000 miles exploring the wild waters of Devon and Cornwall. Formerly a farm vet, he now captures extraordinary encounters with marine and freshwater wildlife from the quiet vantage of his kayak.

From dolphins to basking sharks, otters to kingfishers, Rupert's stories bring the region's rich coastal life and waterways to the heart of the Tamar Talks.

Come and join us for an evening of inspirational stories and highlights from Rupert's journeys.

We are pleased to announce that as part of our Community Connections Nature Hub, we are hosting a series of Winter Talks at the Tamar Valley Centre (TVC), Drakewalls, Gunnislake.

The Tamara Landscape Partnership has a commitment to securing a legacy that provides opportunities to inform and raise awareness of pioneering environmental and conservation projects, connecting individuals and communities closer to nature, advocating sustainable practices, and promoting pro-environmental and conservation behaviours.

The talk will be held in person at Tamar Valley Centre in Gunnislake (Cemetery Road, Drakewalls PL18 9FE).

There is enough seating for 45 people.

This is a free talk made possible with the help of the National Heritage Lottery Fund. Please see our other Tamar Talks in this series here.
