About this Event

7:00 for 7:15pm start

Hosted by Climate Action Now Risborough, we are pleased to present a talk and Q&A around the transition to electric vehicles. To find out more about our group and activities, please find us at www.facebook.com/actforclimate

Introducing our speaker - Anthony Simpson:

Anthony co-led a company environmental programme which led to a listing in The Sunday Times Top 50 Green Companies. Then after completing an MSc in Renewable Energy and Sustainability, Anthony spent four years developing solar projects, and then two years working at the University of Reading on a joint project with the UK’s leading electric vehicle (EV) leasing company, Marlow based DriveElectric. The objective was to develop smart EV charging services that would help rather than hinder our electricity system, supporting the transition to renewable energy. He now works with electric vehicle smart platform company, CrowdCharge.

The talk aims to answer some of the key questions – are electric vehicles really greener? How close is the EV transition? Can our electricity system cope? And does it matter when I charge the car? Finally, why embracing smart meters is a vital step towards net zero.
