Talk by Professor Celia Kitzinger.
Celia is a Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of York, and a Chartered Psychologist. She set up, and co-directs the Coma and Disorders of Consciousness Research Centre. Her research focuses on understanding and improving the experience of families who have a loved one in a coma, vegetative state or minimally conscious state. She recently led a seminar series (funded by the Economic and Social

This talk is part of the accompaying programme for the Dying Matters Community Display. As part of the national ‘Dying Matters’ initiative, this exhibition explores the human experience of death across cultures and throughout the ages. Through thematic displays and associated events we aim to encourage conversations about dying and empower people to make choices about their own deaths.
These monthly talks are organised in partenrship with Leeds Bereavement Forum.
