Event description

Description

Celebrated for the skill and innovation of his painting, Gerhard Richter is also one of the most astute critics of the very medium he masters. In this lecture, Daniel F Herrmann, curator of special projects at the National Gallery, gives an overview of Richter’s career, his subversive roots within the German tradition, and the political power of painting.

This is the 4th lecture in a series of 4 lectures looking in depth at the work of four German artists, selected from across a span of 600 years. You may also be interested in:-
