Fri 8 September 2017, 19:00 – 21:30 BST
Includes exclusive visit museum visit
The Austen Patchwork coverlet is a key object in the museum collection, providing greater insight into the domestic and daily lives of the Austen family. As part of our Heritage Lottery Funded project, the coverlet has undergone major conservation work to preserve it for future generations. Enjoy an exclusive visit to view the returned patchwork coverlet in-situ, followed by a fascinating talk on the construction and history of the coverlet with Sue Dell. Lucy Bailey, Heritage Activities Project Manager, will also give an update on the creation of a new community quilt to be displayed at the museum in 2018.
