Through defying the odds as Endurance was crushed by the unforgiving Antarctic ice, Sir Ernest Shackleton is renowned the world over as an exemplary leader in the face of adversity. Captain Scott paired Naval organisation with dedication to science, whilst Amundsen demonstrated a deep understanding of Polar environments and the preparation required for tackling the frozen South.

In the first of our Autumn/Winter 25/26 talks series at Discovery Point, we'll explore the leadership styles of these icons of Polar exploration and their peers, and uncover not only insights into their characters and their flaws, but lessons that can be applied to life today; from the every day, to adventures across the globe.
