Event description

Description

Professor Richard Thomson is a leading academic and author on Monet and French 19th-century art. As Curator of the National Gallery's exhibition ‘Monet and Architecture’ he will give a unique insight to this core aspect of Monet's artistic development. The talk will present highlights from the current exhibition, which includes more than 70 paintings by the artist. The works span Monet’s career from his early compositions of villages and rural settings, through his exploration of the modern city, to his monumental series portraying Rouen Cathedral.

A wine reception will follow the talk.
