About the speakers
Brendan Mulvaney is Director of the China Aerospace Studies Institute. He is a Marine who served for a quarter of a century and an Olmsted scholar of Fudan University, Shanghai. Brendan has served in California, Iraq, Japan and the Western Pacific. He served as the First Director of the Commander's Red Team, and supervised the implementation of Red Teaming in the Marine Corps. In 2013, he transferred to the US naval academy where he was the Associate Chair for the languages and culture department, and taught Mandarin Chinese, Chinese culture and cross-cultural literacy.
Marc Marmino graduated from the US Air Force Academy with a BSc in Economics and completed his PhD at King's College London. He is a US Air Force officer and currently serves as Squadron Commander. His doctoral research focused on young adult compliance with digital forms of pandemic surveillance in the PRC and Taiwan. His work has been featured in The Diplomat, Asian Affairs, and the Journal of Indo-Pacific Affairs.
