Event description

Description

Val Woodgate examines Picasso’s work through his relationships with the seven most important women in his life, two of whom he married. His response to each can be seen in the styles he represented them in, from the Rose Period and Cubism of his first great love, to the highly charged, expressive works of later years.

This is the 5th lecture in a season of talks focusing on Spanish painting from the 16th to 20th centuries. You might also like to consider these lectures:-

Velázquez at Court in Madrid, by Dr Jacqueline Cockburn
