Event description

Description

Scratching the Surface: the work of the Hampshire Medieval Graffiti Project.

While modern graffiti often gets a bad press, the study of historical graffiti can reveal much about the beliefs and ideas of people from the past, whose voices were often otherwise unheard. Karen Wardley, Co-ordinator of the HMGP, will talk about the work of the project, the discoveries that have been made, and the stories these enigmatic marks can tell us.

Talks are in the John Chandler Activity Room, in the Visitor Centre. Refreshments available from 6.30pm. Talks begin at 7pm, last about an hour, and there is an opportunity for questions at the end.
