Event description

Description

The Home Affairs Select Committee is trying to develop a consensus on immigration policy. Can we give them a hand?

This is a FREE two hour event, open to everyone, part of a national series organised by Talk Shop.

Refreshments provided.

This is neither a speaker session where you sit there passively and get to ask a question if you are lucky; nor a debate where one side tries to defeat the other. Instead, you’ll spend most of the time in a small group, developing your understanding of the issue.

Each group will develop its own immigration policy, and then we’ll compare the different policies to see how much agreement there is.

People who have come to previous talk shop events have found them: safe; enjoyable and constructive.

What Happens:

5.15 Arrivals and refreshments

5.30 Introductions

5.30 Small group discussions (three rounds)

7.00 Voting on possible immigration policies, plus reviewing the results

7.30 Finish
