Summary: In this talk we will present three case studies.

1) Road link traffic imputation

The talk aims to cover aspects of creating traffic flow data to be used in a forecasting model for new drive thru locations. The techniques covered are graph databases, Spark and google cloud computing

2) Local pizza pricing tracking via Just Eat

How to create and utilise Just Eat data to gain a competitive advantage in pizza pricing. The techniques covered are TensorFlow, word vectorisation and GIS

3) Grocery gravity models

What are gravity models and how we build them? the talk aims to cover the definition of a gravity model and the data needed to build one (includes the building of small area estimates of grocery demand). The techniques covered are LCFS usage, Bluebook numbers and GIS

Speakers: Neil Farricker and Christoph Mulligann

Neil Farricker - Director of Data Science

Neil has built models and bespoke data for retailers, banks & insurers over the last 15 plus years. Previously a senior modeller at Mapinfo UK, Neil started out at the Co-op where he spent 5 years overhauling their modelling and processes. His current role is to oversee the progression of modelling processes across the team.

Christoph Mulligan - Chief Innovator

Christoph is Geolytix's resident geospatial guru. He's built turnover estimation models for various clients and was also seconded to work on spending pattern data for a major bank for a year. During his term he's become an expert in processing big data efficiently with minimum cost and also drives Geolytix forward in the technology and modelling world.
