Description

Exhibition co-curator Charlotte Bolland discusses this National Portrait Gallery exhibition, which examines the moment of encounter between artist and sitter, and the range of drawing tools, workshop tools and media used to create portraits as studies and individual works of art.

Selected from prestigious British collections, The Encounter will bring together nearly fifty works by artists who worked across Europe during a period of extraordinary artistic ingenuity, including Leonardo, the Carracci and Bernini in Italy, Dürer in Germany, Rembrandt in the Netherlands and Holbein in England.

Please note that Tickets to the exhibition are not included and can be purchased directly from the Gallery.
