Event description

Description

A symposium to talk about movement building for community business. This event is open to participants from the Power to Change Community Business Leaders course, as well as other community business leaders operating in the north of the country, to connect and think big. It is an opportunity to imagine what should happen next, and the kinds of national conversations that should be taking place.

The event will be part of the Inquiry into the Future of Civil Society conversations, and also the Forum for the Future's Future of Community Business conversations. It will also include representatives from other CBL courses from around the country, and provide a chance for those cohorts to feed back on their movement building initiatives where they live. The day will include a Question Time style panel discussion on the wider movement narrative, made up of Mary Clear, founder of the global Incredible Edible movement, Kate Stewart, Director of Programmes at Power to Change, and Richard Harries, Director of the Research Institute at Power to Change.

The event will be held at the Halifax Opportunties Trust, a fantastic community business itself, working to make vibrant, multi-cultural and self-sustaining communities across Calderdale. Find out more about their work here.

The event is by invitation only, free to attend, and includes lunch and reasonable travel costs (up to £100p/p).

Please let us know if you have any dietry requirements.

RSVP by Thursday 22nd Feb.
