Ta(l)king Action: Food
Event Information
About this event
One of the most important things we can do as individuals to tackle the climate and ecological crises is to change the way our food is produced and our diets. In our February Ta(l)king action session, we will focus on food in all its glory, where it comes from and how to grow your own.
Hear from our team of specialists including:
Andy Goldring, CEO of the Permaculture Association: how permaculture design can empower us to make the right choices for a sustainable future.
Adrian Lovett, Chair of Good Food York: a brief introduction to Regenerative Agriculture and its value in balancing excess carbon dioxide emissions
Joe Fennerty, founder of Food Circle York: stories from a social enterprise working to create a sustainable and fair food system.
We will use a Q&A session with our specialists to inspire us to make pledges, change our habits and cut our carbon footprint; with advice, support and collaboration from others trying to do the same.
After presentations and questions, we will break into small groups to discuss the issues, make your pledges and make new connections with like-minded people to take action. You can view pledges from our previous event here.
Ta(l)king Action is a series of online labs created in partnership by St Nicks, Oaktree Sustainable Living Centre and Speak Carbon to allow people to hear from experts on a range of environmental issues, hold discussions with others around those issues and pledge to take action - either as individuals or as part of an organisation - to change behaviours and progress towards the zero carbon future we must all now embrace.
