Overview

Recognise, respond to and reduce the impact of anger in your family

Does your child’s anger leave you feeling unsure how to respond?

Are you struggling to help your child manage big emotions?
Worried that anger is becoming the main way your family communicates?

Children with ASD and/or ADHD often find it hard to manage anger, and behaviours like aggression can be especially challenging. Many parents tell us that their child’s neurodiversity can blur the boundaries of what’s acceptable — making it harder to respond with confidence.
It’s also common to worry that siblings may be learning to express themselves through anger too, and to feel concerned about the long-term impact on family relationships.

That’s why we’ve created this practical online workshop, based on our CAN Parent accredited course “Anger: Escaping the Trap.”

It offers more than just anger management strategies — it helps you truly understand what’s happening for your child and what you can do to support them.

Led by experienced facilitators, counsellors, and parenting practitioners, this workshop will help you:

  • Understand the difference between healthy and unhealthy anger
  • Recognise the early, non-verbal signs of anger
  • Identify your own and your child’s triggers
  • Use practical techniques to de-escalate anger and aggression safely
  • Respond effectively during meltdowns, protecting everyone involved
  • Find further help and ongoing support

Parents have said:

“Tackled some complex areas really well. Extremely helpful visuals, full of information to use in the real world. Can definitely use some of the concepts immediately.”
