Talking ASD & ADHD: Sibling Struggles (811) For parents/carers in Herts.
Overview
Are you struggling to meet everyone’s needs in your family?
Parents often tell us how exhausted they feel at trying to manage all the needs within the family and share their guilt at not giving as much time and attention to all their children when one child has additional needs.
You’re not alone.
Many parents tell us how exhausting it is to manage the different needs within their family — especially when one or more children have additional needs such as ASD or ADHD. Balancing these demands can be incredibly challenging.
Siblings of children with ASD or ADHD often experience their own pressures. Research shows that they may be more likely to struggle socially and emotionally compared to siblings of children without autism or other developmental conditions.
But it doesn't have to be this way!
Even small changes in how we respond as parents can make a big difference.
