Description

Join us at the British Library for a day of inspiring talks and practical workshops to support and develop subject knowledge and reinvigorate English language teaching. Aimed at Secondary and FE teachers of English Language, this conference has particular relevance to A Level.


The day will offer a choice of workshop sessions and a range of keynotes, offering specialist insights and practical resources to support your teaching. Across the day, sessions will explore key topics including global English, language variation and change and language acquisition.

Keynote speakers and workshop leaders include:

  • Professors Devyani Sharma and Jenny Cheshire of Queen Mary University of London
  • Kim Ballard, author of The Frameworks of English, Interpreting Texts and The Stories of Linguistics
  • British Library educator Julian Walker
  • Dan Clayton, Education Consultant at the English and Media Centre

Lunch is included as are opportunities for networking with contributors and delegates, plus the chance to engage with British Library online resources. The day will culminate in a panel Q&A.
