About this event

Family & Education • Parenting

Juggling family life can be busy, fun, stressful, rewarding, challenging — but never dull!

These are just some of the words parents use when describing their experiences.

In the rush of daily life, it can be hard to step back and find new ways to handle situations that often end in conflict. Many parents tell us they struggle to motivate their children, manage behaviour, or simply bring more fun and positivity back into their home.

That’s why we’re offering Talking Families, a popular 2½-hour workshop designed to help with these everyday challenges.

What to Expect

This practical programme is open to all parents and carers at The Beacon. You’ll gain insight into why children behave the way they do and learn effective, up-to-date strategies for:

  • Managing challenging behaviour — and understanding why it happens
  • Stopping the cycle of nagging
  • Encouraging positive behaviour
  • Communicating with confidence and assertiveness
  • Making the most of family time

Workshops are interactive, not lectures. You’ll take part in group discussions and activities — but don’t worry, there’s no role play involved. Parents leave with practical skills they can use straight away, and confidence to apply them as their children grow.

Feedback from Parents

“It has taught me new skills to deal with family life. The group was really non-judgemental — I can’t thank you enough!”
“It was such a good opportunity to stop and think about what I wanted things to be like at home. I’ve left feeling really positive.”
