Description

We would like to invite you to attend the Talking Hope: Languages, Conceptualisations and Challenges event to be held on October 30th from 10:30-3:30 at the Good Shepherd Centre in Bishopton.

This is a day designed to bring together key stakeholders, all with an interest in supporting young people with considerable risk in their lives, to have conversations, exchange perspectives and to celebrate the many contributions of practitioners and secure care centres in Scotland to promoting hope amongst young people and the staff who work with them.

The event will consist of:

(1) A collaborative presentation by the secure care estate to showcase and celebrate some of the innovative work underway to maintain and build hope with young people.

(2) Perspectives of care experienced young people.

(3) Sharing learning from the Talking Hope Project, and a discussion about next steps.

(4) Roundtable question and reflection sessions.

(5) The presentation of a short documentary made with young people at the Good Shepherd Centre exploring hope as they understand and experience it.

Please contact Katherine.Baxter@strath.ac.uk with any questions you may have, and we look forward to seeing you on the day.
