To celebrate Dark Matter Day, we are excited to be holding another family event with the STFC Boulby Underground Laboratory during the October half term, starting off with a fantastic short link up to the team at Boulby, who will talk to us live from 1.1 km underground! This will be followed by some brilliant hands-on activities - something for all the family!

During the live link, the team from Boulby what's happening in the hunt for the mysterious dark matter - the missing mass of the Universe - and how they use the special and unique environment of the mine to enable a whole range of other exciting science - from researching renewable energy storage to exploring other planets!

This in-person event will start promptly at 13:30 and will run until 16:00. It is suitable for ages 6 and up, and is particularly suitable for groups with children of primary school age.
