Event description
This one-hour workshop will help you make sense of the jargon jumble, understand what diversity, equality, equity and inclusion mean

About this Event

The business case for diverse organisations has never been stronger. Diverse organisations make better decisions, are more creative and are more financially successful. Clients are increasingly asking questions about the diversity of the organisations they want to work with. But having an organisation that looks diverse isn’t necessarily going to bring you the success you want. The organisational culture needs to be inclusive so that diverse talent can actually contribute. Everyone needs to feel like they belong. This ticket also gives you access for the day to The Curious Lounge from 8am until 6pm .

This one-hour workshop will help you make sense of the jargon jumble, understand what diversity, equality, equity and inclusion mean for you and your organisation, and start to identify the priorities that are right for you, right now.

Ellie Highwood is a Diversity and Inclusion specialist who is passionate about enabling all employees to thrive and belong in their organisation, in turn allowing the organisation to flourish.

Ellie has 6 years of experience of leading Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy at first Departmental and then Institutional level in a Higher Education Institution. She has devised targets and persuaded the Executive Board to adopt them, developed strategy and action plans and applied successfully for external accreditation. Ellie has been invited to speak on Diversity and Inclusion at the Met Office, and the Government Office for Science, as well as at numerous universities and brings 20+ years of experience in quantitative analysis, research project leadership and communication of complex ideas to audiences ranging from academics and funding agencies to teachers, parents and primary school children.

Ellie has recently founded the diversity and inclusion consultancy Equasense and is available to discuss diversity inclusion training, workshops, audits and action plans. She is also a trained coach - ellie@equasense.co.uk
