Event Details

Please note this training is available to professionals working with young people in Southwark.

Talking to young people about their sexual health can be a daunting experience. In this training, we draw on 50 years of expertise of talking to young people about their sexual health and provide a comprehensive overview of the information that you need to know in order to work effectively in this area.

Participants will be able to:

  •  List the different methods of contraception and discuss them meaningfully with young people
  • Identify sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and know how to prevent them
  • Develop skills to support young people to achieve safe, healthy, happy relationships and sex
  • Explain confidentiality and the law
  • Identify sexual health and wellbeing services to signpost young people to.

We look at how to have difficult conversations with young people and we also discuss the cultural and individual differences that affect relationships and sexuality.

This training is delivered by our experienced team who work with young people on a day to day basis, either in schools, colleges or outreach settings.
