Tameside Council’s Employment and Skills Team would like to invite you to attend the Tameside Apprenticeship Levy Paying Business Event on 28th September 2016 from 8am to 10am. The event will be attended by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, the National Apprenticeship Service, New Economy, Tameside College and Brother UK. We will seek to consolidate information regarding the Apprenticeship Levy and ascertain how local levy paying businesses may be supported to maximise their contribution.
What is the Apprenticeship Levy?
The Government is committed to increasing the quality and quantity of apprenticeships in England, and has pledged to create 3 million apprenticeships by 2020. With this in mind, the Government would like employers to take greater control of training their staff and growing workforces using the apprenticeship pathway.
Employers will have to pay the Apprenticeship Levy from April 2017. The payment will be 0.5% of the total paybill which is calculated on total employee earnings.
Who should attend the Tameside Levy Paying Businesses event?
Tameside businesses which:
- have a paybill in excess of £3 million and would like to find out how the Apprenticeship Levy will impact their business
- would like the levy detail to be consolidated, including the latest updates
- wish to learn more about how to calculate and maximize the levy payment
- need further guidance regarding the levy
The event will be held in Room 203, in the Advanced Technology Centre, Tameside College.
