Darren Tansley outlines the nerve-wracking process of bringing beavers back to Essex to help reduce flooding in the village of Finchingfield. He soon realised beavers were actually better at managing water than humans and that if given a chance these amazing rodents could be the future of safe, clean, sustainable water for people and wildlife.
Darren is the Wilder Rivers and Protected Species Manager at Essex Wildlife Trust and Co-Founder of the Essex and Suffolk Dormouse Group. As well as being a contributing author to the Mammals of Suffolk he also co-wrote the Mammals of Essex.
