Taming the Inner Critic: A 4-Week Journey from Judgement to Compassion with Maureen Cooper

Many practitioners and clients live with an inner critic that feels ever-present, ready to judge, undermine, or ridicule attempts to grow. Its familiar harshness can stall creativity, erode confidence, and leave people feeling locked in an exhausting internal battle. Efforts to silence or overpower this voice often intensify the struggle, creating an even more corrosive dynamic.

This four-week series invites a different path. Rather than engaging in conflict, we will explore how to stand firm without being defined by the critic’s narrative. By approaching the critic with curiosity rather than fear, participants can begin to uncover the intentions behind its strategies and move towards a more compassionate internal dialogue.

Drawing on compassion-focused therapy, focusing, and contemporary self-compassion approaches, this series offers a clear and practical toolkit to help transform the relationship with the inner critic. Each session builds progressively towards greater insight, emotional resilience, and a more compassionate internal stance. Practitioners will gain tools they can apply personally and bring into their client work.

This series is designed to be taken as a whole for maximum benefit. The event will be recorded, and colleagues may pre-purchase the recording if they cannot attend live or wish to revisit the material.
