About this Event

Cute Owl Promotions proudly presents:

tAngerinecAt - Ukraine/UK

Stunning lead hurdy-gurdy with effect pedals, fierce yet tender vocals, floaty flutes, massive drone bass and DIY samples seamlessly combine with industrial-rave beats, anarchist political views and piercing vulnerability in an utterly captivating show.

The nomadic duo tAngerinecAt was formed in 2008 in Ukraine as a collaboration between Ukrainian Eugene Purpurovsky and English Paul Chilton. Inspired by their studies, travels and music experiences in remote parts of the Carpathian Mountains, their music has also absorbed different forms of Ukrainian and Soviet counterculture.

They have four independently released, successfully selling albums that have had airplay on BBC 2, BBC 3 and BBC 6. The band has toured internationally in Ukraine, UK and Russia

🌟“tAngerinecAt brought not just synth to the table, but a whole range of physical, classical instruments into the mix – most noticeably their use of the hurdy-gurdy, to make their music the deep notes of severe doom and dread that gave it the feeling of a rave in a mausoleum...”- Ben Knight, LEFTLION

🌟"Watch out for: tAngerinecAt... this is some of the most powerful music I have heard in a long time..." - LOUDER THAN WAR

🌟"I've never seen someone play a hurdy-gurdy so punk..."

- DEVIL’S DYKE NETWORK

🌟"Tangerinecat exploded into my world and I'm a happier man for it! Awesome energy and multidisciplinary. Myself and the team at New Art Exchange really appreciated your work."

- Jason Pollitt‎, NEW ART EXCHANGE

🌟"Album is immense. Exceptional..."

- John Hywel Morris, PRS for Music Senior Membership Development Manager, Wales

🌟“...the most important piece of art you need to navigate these times...” - David Eggleston (Mirrorkill)

SHE ROBOT

Edgy, raw, beatbox and bass driven sensual sounds, layered to perfection to create a mesmerising performance which is powerful yet ethereal.

Award winning loop artist Suzy Condrad effortlessly juggles instruments (voice, guitar, glockenspiel, autoharp, thumb piano, bottles) and genres with a dynamic and arresting one woman show which has amazed and delighted audiences from Shambala to Boomtown Fair, Bearded Theory to Beautiful Days. Dancehall, ska, doo wop, folk and electro collide with blistering beats and haunting, sublime vocal gymnastics to take you on an ever-looping journey which balances real-time loop juggling against timeless songwriting.

🌟A seasoned performer and authentic underground artist who has written and self-produced three albums and established herself as a leader in her field, winning the title of Boss Looping UK Champion (2011).

🌟"Very clever. A fine piece of loop pop" - Janice Long, BBC Wales

Hallelugenia

Hallelugenia is Dark Soft Freaky Beats, Trippy Tunes, Electronic Ballads and more. Hallelugenia aims to generate an experimental sound, colliding an alternative rock soul into an electronic suit.

It’s a Bristol based, wilfully contradictory, electronic rock/soul project created in 2015 by Luca Macchi by misspelling the name of a paleozoic fossil.

His music is dark, romantic and can result in space travels.

Imagine you’re coming back home after a night out, you’re still a bit high: you want Hallelugenia to take your hand and guide you into a restoring sleep or an intimate revelation. Or both.

After a collaboration with Giuliana Fioretti that brought to the Ep “Clean it Up (Post Truth)”, several gigs in Bristol and London and a tour in Italy, Hallelugenia released an album in 2018 of the same name coproduced with Lorenzo Cela and he’s just released the new Ep called “Voices and Ghosts”.

"I highly recommend Hallelugenia and think he would fit very well into the festival scene and vibe. He is the kind of band that I seek out when attending festivals and would fit equally well into a sunny afternoon, evening stage or late night dance tent. SongSmith have booked him three times already since late 2016 and will be looking to offer him more high profile shows next year."
