TAONB Creds Masterclass: How to ensure you get invited to pitch and win more new business
Manchester, 22nd April 08:30 - 12:00
Pitching for business starts from the first touchpoint which is why having a set of creds that help you to stand head and shoulders above the agencies you are competing against is essential.
In this exclusive masterclass, Tony Spong (Managing Partner of AAR, one of the UK’s leading intermediaries) will share the secrets of how best to put your story across to clients. Tony will take you through a simple organising framework, reveal unique client insights, help dispel some myths about how clients buy agencies and share some good, bad and ugly examples, so helping your creds do the best job possible in ensuring you are shortlisted for pitch.
Agencies from outside London frequently complain to us that although they might be lucky enough to get on the long list in pitches against London agencies, quite often they then fail to make the short list. In Tony's experience, it’s got little to do with talent it’s just that London agencies are often much better at producing compelling and impactful creds documents. This masterclass will go some way towards levelling the playing field.
Given AAR's vast knowledge and experience, and the huge number of pitches they have managed over nearly 40 years in business, they are the perfect partner to provide some clarity on what makes for effective agency creds and what doesn't.
About our speaker
Tony joined AAR in 2007 and leads their integrated, design and below the line consultancy, helping clients and agencies compete more effectively against their peer group. Having previously worked for over 20 years in senior client side marketing and agency roles, Tony has extensive insight into the needs of both parties in the client:agency relationship. Tony was elected to the DMA Agencies Council in 2008 and works with Warwick University to help prepare the integrated marketers of tomorrow.
Who should attend
Agency owners, leaders, marketing directors, client service directors, creative directors, account directors and new business professionals who want to learn how to ensure their creds are perfectly pitched for the clients they want to win.
When & Where
The Art of New Business
The Art of New Business is a collaborative network of like-minded individuals set up by Karla Morales-Lee and Sarah Bradley. Our focus is on finding new ways of winning business, and giving support and advice to each other. We run events in London and Manchester for new business executives, managers and directors working in the creative sector. For each event we select speakers who can inspire our network to think differently about what they do and how to do it. We want to lead the search for ‘a better way’. That means better people, better processes, better tools and better results. Bringing in new business for your agency can often be a lonely, high pressured job, so this network has been set up to support and inspire those of you facing daily pressure to bring in new business, often in silo from the rest of their organisation.
