During our conversations we find out how our guests approach their work, what inspires them, what techniques they favour and why. Hear the stories behind some of their work and have a chance to ask questions.
For our April conversation we return to Scotland to talk with Gyllian Thomson. She graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee in 1995, and followed that with a PGCE in Art and Design from the University of Glasgow. She now has a studio at home, welcoming visitors at least annually through the Dumfries & Galloway Open Studios event Spring Fling. Gyllian's tapestries are abstract, based on her own paintings inspired by her local landscapes, painted, and woven, in bright vibrant colours. She teaches tapestry weaving locally, has won a series of awards, and exhibits regularly with a range of other artists as well as having her own solo shows. She's in a period of transition, shifting the focus of what she weaves and working out where her tapestry weaving journey will go from here.
Join us to find out more about Gyllian's work, inspirations, and approach to the world of woven tapestry, along with where the journey is now taking her and how she is managing that process.

A note about ticket prices - we are trialling inclusion of the Eventbrite fee in our ticket prices. The revised ticket price of £12 reflects that (previously tickets cost £10 plus the Eventbrite fee). Please do let us have feedback on this.
