About this event
About this Event
We acknowledge that everything happening now and over the last year has impacted students in a big way. We could have been hit by family challenges, grief, living alone, exam and work stress as well as all of the other things involved with being a student.
This group is an open, inclusive and non-judgemental space for Punjabi-identifying students to connect, learn and support one another .
Who is this for?
This discussion group is for all students who identify as Punjabi, whether culturally, geographically or linguistically. It is open to those of all faiths and none. This group is open to students from different backgrounds as long as they are comfortable in a space that is sensitive to Punjabi cultures. A 'student' is someone who is in full-time or part-time education and is over the age of 18.
What will this discussion focus on?
This discussion will focus on the things which are bugging us and the things which may be on our mind. We know that we have become used to the last year of staying indoors, not seeing our friends and always preparing for the worst.
So, as we face different obstacles how can we best support ourselves?
This space offers a place for peer support, attentive listening, and a chance to connect with other university students around the country and world. You can learn about well-being, develop self-care tips and engage in an inclusive space that is open to all discussions concerning culture, wellness and student life.
Join us for an open supportive space where we will be celebrating Taraki Student Spaces.
Together we will be:
- Reflect on how far you’ve come through journaling exercises and collective discussion
- Giving ourself permission to not know what is next and embrace the journey ahead
- Celebrating how much we've grown, what we've learnt about ourselves and each other
This session will involve mindfulness exercises, self-reflective journaling, embodiment practices and a collective discussion. Please bring a journal and pen.
