About this event

Health • Mental health

The Art of Tatreez: The ancient art of Palestinian embroidery, Tartreez is a 3,000 year old embroidery tradition which evolved to highlight the Palestinian plight and became a form of resistance, expressed through fabric, needle, and thread.

This event offers a restorative and nurturing autumn afternoon of connection and support, with like-minded women and Nour's therapeutic staff team.

The session will be led by our experienced facilitator Manha Hussain, a published textile/crafts artist and embroiderer.

Light refreshments and snacks will be available throughout the day.

Buy a gift ticket for another woman: We encourage participants who can to support other women who are survivors of abuse to attend these special sessions. There is an option to gift a stranger a ticket by selecting 'Gift a Ticket' when booking. This ticket will be allocated to a survivor to attend the session free of charge - a charitable act of lifting the hopes of another woman in times of need, without expecting anything in return.

Global Activism: This event has been developed in recognition of the global campaign '16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence'. This event aims to honour our own experiences while simultaneously holding space for other women, both near and far. When we fight to end gender-based violence, we fight for all women, everywhere.
