Course Content/Objectives

A step by step, hands on approach to learn more about the four literacy apps provided by Crick software, the makers of Clicker 7. Each Clicker App focuses on one key aspect of Clicker 7 and has a child-friendly, designed-for-touch interface perfectly suited to learners across the primary age range.

Please note:

  • iPads will be provided for use in the training session
  • Crick Apps are paid apps – Therefore this is an opportunity to try out apps that your school may wish to purchase through future PEF or school funds.
  • Bryan Adamson will be presenting at some sessions, Dates TBC

 

Outcomes sought

  • Learn how to use Clicker Sentences and create differentiated sentence building activities for your pupils.
  • Learn how to use Clicker Connect, creating activities that allow pupils to connect words and phrases to build sentences and compose coherent text.
  • Learn how to use Clicker Docs, and try out the features of this portable primary word processing app.
  • Learn how to use Clicker Books, and how to help children create their very own talking books.

2.1.2: Know how to use, design and adapt materials for teaching and learning which stimulate, support and challenge all learners.

3.1.2: Communicate appropriately with all learners, and promote competence and confidence in literacy

3.1.4: Identify effectively barriers to learning and respond appropriately, seeking advice in relation to all learners’ needs as required.

3.2.1: Enable learners to make full use of well-chosen resources, including digital technologies to support teaching and learning.
