Taster Course - Understanding Conflict: Causes, Escalation and Resolution
Mon, 3 Apr 2017, 08:00 – Fri, 28 Apr 2017, 17:00 BST
Queen Margaret University’s Consumer Dispute Resolution Centre is delighted to invite you to take part in a FREE online taster course between Monday 3 April and Friday 28 April 2017.
The course will provide an introduction to conflict resolution and is designed to give you an insight into what studying on Queen Margaret University’s MSc Dispute Resolution is like.
The taster course runs over three weeks and is followed by a final week where you will complete a self-assessment exercise. The course covers three themes:
- What is conflict and what causes it?
- Why does conflict escalate?
- How can conflict be effectively resolved?
When taking part on the course you will be asked to watch videos, read some online materials, participate in online discussions with fellow students and tutors, and complete some online quizzes.
You should budget a few hours a week to take part on the course.
At the end of the course, if you successfully complete the self-assessment exercise, you will obtain a Certificate of Attendance, confirming your participation in the course.
Finally, on conclusion of the course there will be an opportunity to take part on a live discussion session with the MSc Dispute Resolution’s Programme Leader. This will allow you to get more information about further study options.
