Tasting the Royal Docks

Join Edible Archives as they start their journey creating a new edible artwork for the Royal Docks, commissioned and co-produced by Royal Docks-based FeastFest Productions. The creative duo, Harry Jelley and Sonia Sandhu, start this process through participatory workshops, archive research, and conversations as they start tasting Newham. What tastes, sights, and sounds remind you of the docks? What dock's heritage is important to you? How does health intersect with heritage in this context?

Participants: everyone is welcome, especially the longtime residents, with a history of knowledge of Royal Docks, and the people with public health experience and expertise.

About us:

FeastFest: FeastFest is a London‑based cultural‑producing initiative rooted in the Royal Docks, using food and creative experiences to celebrate local heritage and cultural diversity. It works with communities to champion sustainable practices and support urban regeneration, embedding cultural expression into the area’s redevelopment and place‑making vision.

Edible Archives: Edible Archives create memorable multisensory experiences that boldly explore heritage by bringing together food, art and poetry. They’ve previously created pop-up ice cream parlours full of sound and set celebrating the murals of William Mitchell and The Bradford Selection, a multisensory artwork held within a biscuit tin featuring unique recipes co-created with local communities in Bradford.
