We welcome you to witness and listen to the first public showing of Roxanna Albayati’s latest work.

تولد دوباره |Tavalode Dobāre (Reborn) is a story of a journey, as we follow Setareh, a wandering soul, embodying different forms through layers of temporality & consciousness. From dream-state stars to the realm of reality, Setareh finds herself following a spiritual wound, until left with a melancholic hope in human form.

Through a transcultural use of Sicilian, Persian & Sufi poetry, music & ritual practice, this audiovisual work nestles an individual’s grief within a collective pain & longing for clarity.

This evening, a special offering will take place ~ a live music performance alongside the audiovisuals, with music collaborators Salvo Bella & Nicole Bettencourt Coelho.

Sound bowls will ground you into the space, voices will carry you through time, and the weaving of ghaychak, guitar and electronics will guide us through the journey.
