Description

This speaker meeting of Church Action for Tax Justice (CATJ) will take place on Thursday 6 February 2020, 7.00 for 7.30pm, at St Andrews Methodist Church, Pump St, Worcester, WR1 2QT. A presentation will be given by CATJ National Coordinator, Dr Justin Thacker, who will present Tax for the Common Good, CATJ’s manifesto for change. Justin was previously Academic Director at Cliff College, Derbyshire. He initially trained as a doctor at the University of Edinburgh and worked as a paediatrician in Kenya and in Northwick Park hospital, north London. In 2017 he published Global Poverty: A Theological Guide (SCM Press).

Dr Thacker's presentation will be followed by a panel discussion involving local politicians and there will also be an opportunity for questions and answers to the speaker and panel.

Light refreshments will be available beforehand from 7pm. St Andrews Methodist Church is located in a pedestrianised area in the centre of Worcester near the corner of Pump St and High St. There are many car parks in the City Centre, the nearest being Cathedral (NCP, WR1 2LU, £4.70 for 7pm to 10 pm, 5 mins walk) and Copenhagen Street (WR1 2HB, £1 for the evening from 7pm onwards, 6 mins walk).
