The training is for taxi drivers and taxi companies of all size and will cover the key safeguarding responsibilities for taxi drivers such as how to recognise vulnerability, disability, types of abuse, types of exploitation and provide you with the confidence to report your concerns.

Training Objectives

By the end of this training, you will:

❏ Be able to identify types of abuse, possible victims of abuse and exploitation

❏ Understand indicators of risk

❏ Understand the definition of disability and the different types

❏ Understand legislation/regulations regarding disability, including wheelchairs and assistance dogs

❏ Understand the best practice and responsibilities in relation to both safeguarding and disability

❏ Understand how as a licensed driver you may assist in reporting concerns

❏ Have confidence to identify and report safeguarding issues

❏ Know how and where to report concerns

Accreditation

This is a CPD Certificate accredited course. Following successful completion of the course you will receive an e-Certificate. Upon completion of the course and once in receipt of your e-Certificate it is YOUR responsibility to send your e-Certificate to the relevant point of contact at your local licensing authority/council to show proof you have successfully completed of course.

Please make sure your FULL name is correct when booking as this is the name that will be printed on the certificate. If someone else pays for the course on your behalf or you pay for another person to attend please let us know the exact details of who will be attending the training.

Course Requirements

In order to partake in the course, you will need to download Zoom on your laptop or tablet. A phone can be used however we recommend the use of a laptop or tablet to give you a larger screen. You must use a device that which has a microphone, a front facing camera with a stable internet connection. Your camera and microphone are essential requirements to be able to successfully participate in the course.

Zoom is free to download at https://zoom.us/ . You must download this well in advance of the training session. We recommend that you test that it works on your system and that you can use video and audio. Please see below video that will help with log in process.

Your zoom link will be sent to you upon purchase via Eventbrite. Please make sure the e mail address you provide is correct as if it is not you will not receive the zoom link to the meeting.

We will not refund anyone who does not successfully join / complete the course due to their poor connection or if either their camera or microphone are not working. If you lose signal during the course you will be required to log back in using the original link. You will be given up to 10 minutes to rectify your signal issue. If you fail to log back in during this time you will be removed from the course and will have to re-sit the course, with cost of new course incurred by you.

Course participation is expected, please ensure you have a pen and paper to hand and no other devices are in use during the course. Any other mobile devices should be switched off or on do not disturb mode.

Course Registration

When accessing the course via zoom you will be held in a virtual waiting registration room with the course trainer where you MUST show photo ID, either your DRIVING LICENCE, TAXI LICENCE BADGE or PASSPORT. These must be the original documents and if they are not presented at registration attendance will be refused. The virtual waiting registration room will be open approximately 30 minutes prior to your course start time. Please wait patiently until the trainers gets to your turn to check your ID and allows your entry on to the course. You must be available in the virtual waiting registration room 15 minutes prior to your course start time, failure to do so may be classed as a late arrival and may lead to your course removal.

Locations

The course can be completed at any location provided you have the ability and signal to log into Zoom, an online video conferencing platform. For the duration of the course you must be in a private room/location, where there is no one else present that may cause a distraction.

Refund Policy

Minimum 7 days notice required for refunds. We are unable to amend or refund any bookings after this time.

All refunds will be subject to a deduction of the Eventbrite processing fee.

Note

Minimum delegate number per event is 7. Your booking may be moved to the next available scheduled date if event under capacity.

Courses may be recorded for training purposes.
