Description

Dr Prem Shah - Why ADHD in adults is important and what mental health services should be doing.

Dr Shah works in Edinburgh and has interests in ADHD, mood disorders and measuring cognitive functions in mental health problems and promises to give an excellent talk around his interests in the expanding field of psychiatry.

Professor Philip Asherson - ADHD and Mindwandering

Philip Asherson, MB,BS,MRCPsych, PHD is Professor of Molecular Psychiatry at the MRC Social, Genetic and Development Psychiatry centre at the institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London, and consultant psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital, His current work focuses on clinical, quantitative genetic and molecular genetic studies of ADHD across the lifespan. He has contributed of the development of mental health services for adults with ADHD in the UK.

Bill Colley - ADHD in Families

Bill is a writer, teacher trainer and educational consultant who spent much of his career in the indepedent sector becoming headmaster of a residential special school. He has worked in local government as a Service Manager witht the responsibility for additional supprot needs and contributes at a local level to two local ADHD support groups.

Hans Van De Velde - Transistion in ADHD, dsylexia, giftedness, from families with adolescents into adults in working situations.

Hans Van de Velde's company Equisto has provided coaching to employers for their employees since 1998. Their human resource interventions cover the whole range of employees aspects. Company cultural change, mobility, absenteeism, lack of involvement, performance problems, management, conflicts, communication, collaboration. Their specialist areas are ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and giftedness.

The Dundee and Angus ADHD support group run a monthly support group for parents/carers, three weekly youth groups for children and young people with ADHD aged between 5-18years old.
