Event description

Description

Everyone with an interest in local wildlife is very welcome to join us at our 12th Recorders' Day on Saturday, 23rd March. This year we will be at the Camperdown Wildlife Centre so there is free car parking and a cafe to buy lunch in. There are less places available than in our other venues so please book as early as possible.

This year we will be exploring "the little things in life that matter" so we will hear from Buglife Scotland on how they have been protecting invertebrates and their habitats for over 10 years (there are 24,000+ species of invertebrates in Scotland so this is no mean task!). There will then be talks on dragonflies, moths, lichens and mosses - and New Zealand Flatworms!

Our neighbours at the North East Scotland Biological Recording Centre will let us know what they have been doing (always an inspiration!) and we will get an update on the long-awaited Scottish Biodiversity Information Forum report and what it actually means to us in Tayside. There will also be a "citizen science" session with 10 minute updates on all sorts of wildlife surveys and projects to get involved in - and of course there will be displays to look at during the breaks.

Whether you are a seasoned wildlife recorder or someone who just wants to find out more about our local wildlife, this event is for you. Please book as soon as possible - and check out the "What's On" section of www.taysidebiodiversity from February onwards for the full programme.
