  • gather evidence to evaluate and disseminate the outcomes of a Lesson Study Enquiry

FAQs

What are the course requirements?

3 days input at Sheffield Institute of Education, plus up to 25 hours of self-study. To gain the professional recognition of TDT Lesson Study Practitioner, participants must submit their final portfolio by the submission date. These portfolios will be jointly assessed and moderated by the Teacher Development Trust and Sheffield Hallam University.

Can I complete a joint portfolio with a colleague?

The professional recognition is an individual practitioner status, if you want to gain the recognition, you need to submit an individual portfolio.

There is a circumstance in school that has meant I can’t complete my portfolio on time. Can I still gain the recognition?

There is flexibility relating to school-based circumstances, if you are struggling to complete your portfolio by the submission date, please do discuss with the course co-ordinators.

Can a different colleague attend in my place on one of the three days?

As stated, the course and portfolio are closely aligned, and designed for an individual to complete the course and portfolio to gain the professional recognition.

Do I need to attend all three days in order to gain the professional recognition?

We strongly encourage all participants to attend all three days, although participants are welcome to submit if they miss a day. We are unable to provide individual feedback beyond that which is provided during the course days.

I got the wrong dates! Is there another date I can attend the course?

The course will run in both Sheffield and London, so there is an opportunity to attend on a different date if you have to miss one. We cannot extend this beyond the academic year (2017-18), however.

Does the course come with Masters Credit?

In order to keep the course affordable, we have not included Masters Credit, as this would significantly increase the cost for participants. We have aligned the course content closely to Masters Level, so that the work you produce could also be used towards any study you may be undertaking.

What's the refund policy?

Please note our refund policy prevents us from issuing refunds for cancellations made 7 days before the first day of the course, due to overhead costs incurred to the Teacher Development Trust as a charity.
