Te Hiku Hīkoi is a set of information webinars to showcase what our programme, Te Hiku Okoro, is all about ✨

You will get to meet some of our awesome Pouako (Teachers), hear what the programme was like first-hand from some of our amazing Pia (participants) and we can answer any questions you have! ❓

Te Hiku Hīkoi will help you understand and realise the value of Te Hiku Okoro (our programme) for you, your tamariki, your kura and your wider school community - regardless of the position you hold. It will provide you with a time and space to connect with some of our Kaiako and Pia (Participants) to hear about their experiences on Te Hiku Okoro, as well as ask about any queries you may have.

What is Te Hiku Okoro?

Te Hiku Okoro is a te reo Māori-focused professional learning and development programme aimed at members and whānau of the education workforce. Provisioned by the team at Takapaukura Limited, Te Hiku Okoro is the Far North's version of the national roll out of Te Ahu o Te Reo Māori; a Ministry of Education initiative aimed at improving and increasing the use of te reo Māori across Aotearoa New Zealand's Education sector.
