Station to Station - celebrating the Queen's 90th Birthday
Millions of people will be celebrating HM The Queen’s 90th birthday, and at the same time, celebrating the vitality and creativity of our communities.
Railway Stations sit in the heart of British communities and for the first time in history, they are joining together to provide a stage to celebrate HM Queen Elizabeth II’s milestone birthday, providing a wonderful array of activities as part of the nationwide celebrations
Whilst celebrating our Queen’s birthday, we are also highlighting the importance of our local public transport. Railways should be at the heart of sustainable communities, with stations being much more than somewhere you get on and off a train – places where people can meet, chat, have a cup of tea. In other words, hubs of the community.
The UK-wide ‘Station to Station’ events have brought together community groups, train operators, Network Rail, and a wide range of rail industry organisations. We’re united in saying that railways have never been more important for communities – and the rail industry wants to go further in highlighting its importance to our country.
To celebrate the Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership is holding a giant tea party at Burnham Station House. You are invited to come and join us between 2pm to 5pm on Sunday the 12th June where tea, cake and coffee will be free to all as well as lots of activities for all the family.
