About this Event
Hilary Woodhead will chat to Music for Dementia’s programme director Grace Meadows and the vital role of music in the provision of dementia care and activity.
Grace Meadows is director for Music for Dementia, a national UK wide campaign to make music an integral part of dementia care. Since she joined the campaign in 2018, Grace has been able to work collaboratively and strategically across sectors to raise the profile of the importance of music in dementia care, bringing people together with a united voice.
A life-long musician, Grace trained as a music therapist over 10 years ago and has worked extensively across education and health settings, including a large NHS Trust in London. Having this person focused experience to draw upon, this sits at the heart of wanting to make positive change happen for people. Alongside this, Grace was the Development Director for the British Association for Music Therapy. Through this role, she was able to connect with the profession across the UK, developing insight into the breadth and depth of practice in the UK and linking people and services together. She is a passionate advocate for the use of music in health and care, especially in dementia care. Most importantly, she is passionate about people and loves working collaboratively with NAPA to make good things happen.
