Arts & Sciences (BASc)

The Arts and Sciences (BASc) degree is UCL’s Liberal Arts course. Students combine science and humanities/social science courses according to their interests.

English & English Language and Literature

The UCL English Department is one of the most enduring and respected in Britain, and is suited for students wishing to immerse themselves in a varied syllabus that combines traditional literary skills and modern thought.

European Social and Political Studies (ESPS)

UCL European & International Social & Political Studies

EISPS is a diverse four-year Programme. Students gain not only from UCL’s world-class teaching, but also from the expertise of their European counterparts.

Greek and Latin (Classics)

UCL offers a variety of interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate degree programmes in classical literature, culture, and history.

Hebrew and Jewish Studies

Hebrew & Jewish Studies at UCL is recognised for its innovative research and teaching. Drawing on UCL’s tradition of secularism and open-mindedness, we integrate all aspects of Jewish Studies, from antiquity to modernity, through the prism of history, literature, and languages.

Information Studies (DIS)

DIS is the only department in the UK which holds together in one place programmes in library and information studies, information science, archives and records management, publishing, and digital humanities.

School of European Languages, Culture & Society (SELCS)

Our study and research focuses on the literature, linguistic traditions, history, sociology, philosophy, art, film and other aspects of the cultures associated with the languages we teach.

Institute of Advanced Studies

The Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) provides a space for critical thinking and engaged enquiry within and across conventional disciplinary and departmental boundaries. The IAS aims to create an open and accessible research-based community, bridging traditional ‘artistic’ and ‘scientific’ practices and modes of thought.
