Event Information
About this Event
Join Celine and Don from the Mei Leaf Teahouse in Camden, experts of the tea ceremony as they guide you through the history, philosophy and techincal aspects of the art of tea.
In their words:
Finding Truth in Tea
Tea is ultimately another love story between humans and the earth. It is the result of thousands of years of cultivation by mountain tribes in China and the finest tea being produced today continues to be made by those who truly honour that special relationship between land, plants and humanity. Don Mei, one of the world’s most renowned educators in tea and founder of Mei Leaf Tea in London will guide an intimate workshop in true tea. Far removed from commodity tea which makes up over 90% of the tea out there, true tea represents the pinnacle of tea production reserved for the inner circles of tea connoisseurs worldwide. This workshop will give a clear overview of the different types of tea and introduce the Gong Fu style of brewing to extract the richest flavour, body and effects. There will be the opportunity to taste some of the world’s finest teas including brews of the original heirloom teas made by those original mountain tribes.

The lived reality of an age leaves traces on our physical and psychological landscape - through roads, walls and borders built, trees felled, buildings destroyed and constructed and also through the stories that are passed down from one generation to the next.
Caraboo Projects’ third exhibition Jurassic Moon draws together artists whose work explores the relationship between humans and their habitat.
Jurassic Moon will exhibit film installation, painting, drawing and sculpture by Juan delGado, Dorcas Casey, Oliver McConnie, Mary Roberts-Holmes and Charlie Morris.
Curated by Mary Roberts-Holmes.
Jurassic Moon is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
