How to lead discussions about the environment and justice to create positive outcomes in the classroom

About this event

The purpose of this course is to reframe the climate emergency in the context of human rights and equality and not to view it as an environmental emergency alone. It will raise your awareness of key human rights issues linked to this and inspire you to want to find out more.

By the end of the training the students will have:

  • Increased knowledge and understanding of climate justice issues and their relevance to education
  • Increased awareness of intersectionality in relation to climate justice and able to explore in their future work as a teacher how different structural inequalities combine and amplify how a person is impacted by the climate emergency
  • Increased ability to critically examine climate justice and its relevance to the climate emergency particularly through the lens of gender.
